Mochi Chunky Hat

2 sk. Mochi chunky,
nds sz. 10 ½ 16” circulars and dpns. 1 stitch marker. Tapestry needle.
Gauge: 3sts/1”

C.O. 60 sts. Join, being careful not to twist.

Rows 1-4: K3, P1 rib
R5: *K5, KFB* repeat ‘til end of row (70 sts)
R6: * K1, YO, K5, s2kp, K5,YO * ‘til end of row.
R7: K all
Repeat rows 6 and 7 until the hat is 6” from cast on edge (measure it relaxed and unstretched) End after working Row7 pattern.

Decrease:
R1: * K1, YO, K3, k2tog, s2kp, k2tog, K3, YO * Repeat ‘til end of row.
R2 and all even rows: K all
R3: * K1, YO, K2, k2tog, s2kp, k2tog, K2, YO*
R5: * K1, YO, K1, k2tog, s2kp, k2tog, K1, YO*
R7: * K1, YO, k2tog, s2kp, k2tog, YO*
R9: * K1, k2tog* ‘til end of row
R11: K2tog all
R12: K all.

Cut yarn, pull it through the remaining stitches using the tapestry needle. Block gently.

CO: cast on; K- knit, P- purl, KFB – knit front and back of the same stitch; YO – yarn over; s2kp: slip 2 stitches together (as if to knit two together), knit 1 stitch, pass the two slipped stitches over the knit stitch. K2tog – knit 2 stitches together.

Kid Seta + Camino Alpaca scarf

1 skein Camino Alpaca or 60 yards heavy worsted alpaca yarn (yarn A)
1 skein Kid Seta or 230 yds lace weight mohair (yarn B)
Needles size 8, tapestry needle

Part 1: Increasing.

With A, C.O 5 sts. Knit one row.
R1: Sl1, KFB, Sl3 (6 sts)
R2: K5, K1tbl
R3: Sl1, KFB, K ‘til 3 sts left, Sl3 (7 sts)
R4: K ’til 1 st left, K1tbl
Repeat R3 and R4 ‘til 9 sts on the needle. Work R3 once more (10sts)
Join yarn B.
R5: with A and B together, K3. Drop A and keep it in the back of your work. With B, K ‘til 1 st left, K1tbl
R6: with B, Sl1, KFB, K ‘til 3 sts left, sl3 holding A and B in front.
Repeat R5 and R6 ‘til 22 sts are on the needle.
Drop B.
R7: with A, K ‘til 1 st left , K1 tbl
R8: Sl1, KFB, K10, Sl1 and turn your work as if in the end of row, K13, K1tbl.
R9: Sl1, KFB, K5,Sl1 and turn, K8, K1tbl
R10: Sl1, KFB, K ’til 3 sts left, Sl3
R11: Like R5
R12: Like R6
Repeat R11 and R12 ‘til 33 sts are on the needle.

Part 2: Main body of scarf (on the bias with short rows)

* R1: With A, K ‘til 1 st left, K1tbl
R2: SL1, K10, Sl1, turn, K11, K1 tbl
R3: SL1, K5, Sl1, turn, K6, K1 tbl
R4: Sl1, K ‘til 3 sts left, Sl3
R5: with A and B together, K3. Drop A and hold it in the back of work. With B, K2tog, K ‘til 1 st left, K1tbl
R6: Sl1, KFB, K ‘til 3 sts left, Sl3
Repeat Row 5 and Row 6 seven more times. *
Work the pattern between * * either 11 times or until the scarf is 34” long (measured flat on the I-cord side)

Part 3: Decrease

R1: with A, K3, K2tog, K’til 1 st left, K1tbl (32sts)
R2: SL1, K10, Sl1, turn, K11, K1 tbl
R3: SL1, K5, Sl1, turn, K6, K1 tbl
R4: Sl1, K ‘til 3 sts left, Sl3
R5: with A and B tog, K3. Drop A and hold it in the back of work. With B, K2tog, K ‘til 1 st left, K1tbl (31st)
R6: Sl1,K ‘til 5 sts left, k 2 tog, Sl3 (30 sts)
Repeat Row 5 and Row 6 seven more times.(16 sts)
Repeat Rows 1-4 once (15 sts)
Repeat Rows 5 and 6 three times (9 sts)
cut B.
R7: With A K 3, K2tog, K3, K1tbl
R8: Sl1, K2, K2tog, Sl3
R9: K3, K2tog, K1, K1tbl
R10: Sl1, K2tog, Sl3
R11: K3, K2tog
R12: K2tog, sl2
R13: K3tog. Cut yarn, pull it through the last st.

CO 22 sts loosely and Knit one row.

Rows 1,3,5: K1, K2tog, K until 1 st, left, M1, K1
Rows 2,4,6: *K1P1*
Rows 7,9,11,13: K1,P1,K1*K2tog, YO twice, K2tog*to last 3 sts, P1,K1,P1
Rows 8,10,12,14: K1,P1,K1 *P2,K1,P1* to last 3 sts, P1,K1,P1
Repeat rows 1-14 until close to out of yarn, end after working Row 2.
Bind off loosely. Block well.

Note: in Rows 7,9,11,13 you are making two yarn overs. As you come to them in Rows 8,10,12,14, one yarn over will end up being a Purl and the other – a Knit.

Kudo Diagonal scarf (Garter or alternating pattern)

Sz. 7 needles for loose knitters, 8 for normal and tight knitters.

Garter:

With A cast on 45 stitches.
R1, with A: [WS]. Sl1 (see note), K until 1 st. left, K1tbl. Do not cut yarn A.
Join B.
R2, with B [RS]: Sl1, kfb, K until 3 sts are left, k2tog, K1tbl.
R3, with B: like R1.
Do not cut yarn B.
Pick up A.
R4, with A: like R2

Repeat Rows 1-4 until you have 16”-18” of yarn left, try to end with the RS row.
Bind off loosely. Block lightly.

Alternating:

With A cast on 45 stitches.
R1, with A: [WS]. Sl1 (see note), K until 1 st. left, K1tbl. Do not cut yarn A.
Join B.
R2, with B [RS]: Sl1, kfb, K until 3 sts are left, k2tog, K1tbl.
R3, with B: like R1.
Do not cut yarn B.
Pick up A.
R4, with A: like R2
R5, with A: [WS]. Sl1 (see note), P until 1 st. left, K1tbl
R6, with B: like R2
R7, with B like R5
R8, with A like R2

Repeat Rows 1- 8 until you have 16”-18” of yarn left, try to end with Row 4.

Bind off loosely. Block lightly.

Note on slipping: Sl1 in this pattern means Slip 1 stitch as if to purl (with yarn in front) NOTE it is “SL1, not Slip 11!)
