Anything worth doing ...

The day was March 29th, 2020.

It was a Sunday, but few of us could say that for certain. A weekend day had been hardly any different from a weekday lately.

Many of our friends online were succumbing to worries and anxieties of uncertain futures: Will I get my job back? Can my kid graduate? Am I going to run out of toilet paper?

As for me, my worries went from “Will my customers like the summer prints I ordered?” and “Should I have No Ice Cream inside policy?” to basically: “When will I be able to reopen?!"

So this wonderful TED TALK by Olivia Remes came across my social media radar. She gave a few great tips for managing anxiety, one of them being “Do it badly, but DO IT, don’t put it off”.

The website you are browsing now has been in the works for almost exactly 6 months. I did not feel I was doing it right. I did not believe it was turning out ”professional looking” enough. I thought I could not handle e-commerce. The tasks seemed wa-ay too daunting!

But today, with some help from another skilled Manzanita neighbor, I am live.

As of this writing, some links may still not work. The shopping cart might glitch and I am sure the typos snuck in. And that’s OK!

Please look around, and I will keep working on this, because badly or not - I DID IT!

Love to all, stay healthy in body and mind, and we’ll see you on the other side of the Era of the Great Social Distancing.
