Unapologetic colors of Joy

~ When we walk outside in the sun again,

when we give our friends long hugs, when we bring our famous dips

and casseroles to potlucks again -we will wear these scarves.

With outrageous bobbles, unapologetic ruffles and

"Yes, she went there" colors of JOY! ~

This post was made nine weeks ago, when there was very little we knew for certain: about the nature of Coronavirus, about how to protect our families and friends, about how to adapt our businesses, teach our children, do our jobs, stay connected with our friends..

We are not out of the woods yet. Our faces are covered with masks, hands are begging for lotion from all the washing, and those of us in the hospitality and food industry are less than sure of what the future will bring.

And yet..

The shops are starting to carefully re-open, doing our absolute best to keep the employees and visitors safe: the floor signs marking the “magic six” spots, customer count limits, mask requirements, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning…

T-SPOT has been open for the last two days, and the best word to describe our mood - despite everything we’ve gone through, THANKS to everything we’ve gone through - is JOY!

It’s a joy to see the familiar faces, smiling with their eyes.

It’s a joy to feel our bodies go through the familiar motions of rolling the sale rack to the porch, setting up the fitting room, flipping the “Open” sign.

It’s a joy to realize - we love what we do. It feels great to be back.
